Peace And Harmony

Dear beloved,
You see your brother there?
He’s drowning in pools of blood,
Screaming pain,
Cursing wars futility
Striving to survive
But you won’t even look at him
How can you look at him?
When blinded by enmity, bitter animosity
Young, yet so cold
Cold right through to the soul
On no account are you strong
Or brave or justified
Confused and lost you are
And all the strife just kills you
And leaves you a living death
And not your brother, who’s wounded,
But you,
Who’s wounded much more,
By the swords of hate and conflict’s madness
You hurt because you’re hurt
And you fight because you wrestle with oblivion,
And fear demise
Aren’t we all just fighting to survive?
I pray that love may fill you
And warm you from within
Breathe in you, new life,
And peace therein
Love like you hate
And may the swords of healing
Heal your brokenness
And bring you together
In peace and harmony
And we’ll bid farewell the enigmatic acrimony -
The enigmatic feelings of ill-will that used to carry the day
Let’s mute the crass dissonance
With honeyed words, soft and sweet
Speaking the language of resounding love
Peace come,
Help us to lay down our pride,
Clarify our tainted lives
Clothe us in white
And we’ll stand pure and immaculate
In peace and harmony
I wait for a time when I’ll come to find
Heartbeats deafening
Hearts rhythmically beating with love and togetherness
And not the sounds of detonations
Blaring into the sullen night
